I am a composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist living in metropolitan Chicago. I received my B.Mus. in composition from DePaul University in 1979. I’m the principal of Zielinski Future Music Publishing. Warped Drive Studios is the secret location where my recordings are created.
My compositions include works for soloists, chamber and rock ensembles, electronics, film and video. I've also arranged for musical theater.
As a performer, I've appeared as a member of chamber, rock, and jazz groups, both in concert and on recordings. I was an original member of the Kamikaze Horns, and have backed artists such as Little Anthony, Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon, Lou Christie, Danny and the Juniors, The Del Vikings, The Diamonds, The Drifters, Lesley Gore, Bobby Lewis, The Platters, Del Shannon, and The Shirelles.
Along the way my activities have also included providing private education in music theory, electronic music, and saxophone. Some of my writings on music and music-technology related topics have appeared in Billboard and International Musician. I've also been a frequent contributor on a variety of subjects to The Chicago Progressive and Central Standard Time.
